"Great shall be the peace of thy children"

There is a scripture in 3 Nephi 22: 2, 13 that says: "Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thy habitations; spare not, lengthen thy cords and strengthen thy stakes... and all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children."

This is Rene. He is one of the first people we met when we came to Odense. He is our Young Single Adult leader.. a man of strength and peace. About a month ago, we went to a Young Single Adult Temple Weekend in Copenhagen with Rene and a young man named Dan. There we helped with baptisms, enjoyed the outreach celebrations of dancing, playing pool, eating, classes, and just having fun with these young, spiritual people of the church.

At the end of the weekend we attended church in the Odense 2nd Ward. Elder Wilberg asked one of the members if he had known "Bent Madsen Gram" ,one of the men he had baptized fifty years ago in Esbjerg. (Es-beer) The member said "Yes, his grandson is in this ward. Let me introduce you to him." He took Elder Wilberg to the other side of the hall where a Young Single Adult was standing. The grandson was our good friend and enthusiastic leader of the YSA Council- Rene.

Both Elder Wilberg and Rene were happily surprised to know that Elder Wilberg baptized his grandfather many years ago.

Today, Rene is a kind, responsible leader for all of the YSA in this half of Denmark. He is going to school in Odense, studying to be an Audiologist and has been on a mission in the Copenhagen, Denmark Mission where he served as an Assistant to the Mission President.

We just went to a "Super Saturday" in his hometown of Esbjerg where we met his grandmother and the rest of his wonderful family. (below) His grandfather died a few years ago, but his grandmother was delighted to meet Elder Wilberg- again, the missionary who baptized her husband.

Here is Rene, his father (Brother Neilson), Elder Wilberg, next to Rene's mom, and Grandma, with his twin sisters in front.
There are many great reunions here and tender memories for Elder Wilberg. We have met sweet children who are living the promises made to their grandfathers.."..All thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children."
